Kelsey

Kelsey2

Kelsey’s yoga love began in 2011 after realizing she was awakening muscles she didn’t even know she had!  Yoga called Kelsey deeper into herself and further into our common love, compassion, and connectedness.  These seeds led her to follow Ana Hough (student of Shiva Rea, Anusara Yoga, & Fredric Ferri) through a 200+ hour training in Vinyasa and Hatha yoga at A2Yoga in Ann Arbor.  Realizing that she was at the tip of the yoga iceberg, Kelsey continues to grow through various workshops and participation in an online teacher cohort with Christina Sell and Gioconda Parker.

As a runner and former athlete, Kelsey loves how yoga helps her work through tight muscles and strength imbalances.  Kelsey’s personal practice and classes often combine elements of both structure and flow.  She encourages “playtime” with an asana, pranayama exercise, and space for meditation.   Daily, yoga reminds Kelsey of the power of steady breath and an open heart to transform body, mind, and spirit – first on the mat and then always in life.

When she is not subbing or teaching a Yoga Gives class at LYC, Kelsey may be playing with her new puppy, enjoying time with her husband, reading, playing music, making sourdough bread, or exploring Champaign-Urbana.  Before moving to CU, Kelsey spent 6 years working with middle school through college-aged students in Michigan and Singapore.  She is excited to join the Living Yoga Center tribe and looks forward to meeting you soon!
